A Charlottesville native who returned to the area in 2003 after graduating from Berklee College of Music (B.M. in Professional Music) in Boston, Jay Pun regularly performs in a duo with violinist Morwenna Lasko. The 2 have shared shows with musicians including Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, Vusi Mahlasela, Dave Matthews Band, The Avett Brothers, as well as toured extensively throughout the U.S. and in Europe. He is also the director of both the music program and JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion) at Renaissance School.

Jay is an owner of 3 Southeast Asian restaurants in Charlottesville; Thai Cuisine & Noodle House, CHIMM, and CHIMM St. in Dairy Market. He also serves on the board of the Eko Ise Music Program Advisory Board at The Jefferson School African American Heritage Center.
